I've been working with personal computers since the days when you had to build them yourself and write the machine code to get them to work. When not hard wiring Imsais, cursing S-100 busses or flipping switches to input "data" (and getting back blinking lights as "output"), I began working on old mechanical watches. Now I use a great GUI and a machine far more powerful (and user friendly) than I could have imagined...but I STILL repair and sell watches. The more exciting facets of my life must thankfully remain secret, but I devote what time I have left over to write fiction. Hoping to begin to master UNIX as my next life-project and I think this site could be most helpful---so don't be shocked if I ask some of you for a bit of your expertise in the near future. Thanks to the Beauty and Power of the current Mac OS and hardware, I must admit I've gotten lazy and forgetful and will need advice from those of you who seem to be light-years ahead!
