Not all things improve with age...

While some things do improve with age, I find that Slashdot is not one of them. Slashcode is definitely showing it's age in the way it renders pages. The overflow comments feature does not work properly. (I keep re-reading the same posts over and over again.) But overall I do find Slashdot still an interesting read because it provides me with links to topics I would not normally find on my own. (It's just finding the good links among all the trolls.)

Still the best news site for tech-related stuff (I still see news items on /. that don't appear in regular news sources for up to three weeks!), Slashdot is being redesigned, and the new page coding (read the article here ) seems to be saving a lot of bandwidth. It also seems to load a bit faster. See here.

Where else can you get science, tech, privacy and pop culture under one roof? Overrated? You must be missing the point.
