If it comes with OSX installed. (har har) ;)

Unfortunately the EULA for OS X specifically forbids its use in "transportation systems." :)
Maybe...
...if I need to gain weight, lose muscles or just feel like never moving my legs.

According to this Segway owner/commuter in Seattle, he has walked more, lost weight, and saved money by getting rid of one of his cars...

Was it just me, or did those pictures look really comical. I found them hilarious. I wonder if they'll come up with a Segway for cubicle environments...

I must agree, I fuond the pictures extremely comical! I'm still laughing! I'm tearin' up....
yeah right...
It's the ultimate in lazy-ass hardware. If a disproportionate amount of Americans are overweight now, wait until the Segway becomes affordable! I'd rather blow my cash-wad on a plasma TV and get fat on the couch.
yeah right...
Please think carefully before you outright slam a product. There are some very, very valid reasons for a product like this. For instance, to people that have a hard time walking long distances because of ailments, this can be a real blessing. Though still hard on a person that is disabled to stand for long periods of time, it does allow a person used to be locked to a wheelchair the ability to be vertical and see the world from a much different vantage point than they are accustomed to.
Words are like bullets; if they escape, you can't catch them again.
re: yeah right...
Well, yes, you're right. I know a couple people in wheelchairs, and I know how difficult the world can be when you're only three feet tall. However, the Segway's been *marketed* as the ultimate yuppie toy. C'mon, do you remember all the ridiculous hype that it will "totally change society!!!"? Yeesh.
Segway Demolition Derby
Heh.. I know my friends and I would have great fun bashing these things up!
Human power
As long as I'm fit enough to ride a mountain bike, or walk, I have no need of gyro stabilization or electric power. So no Segways yet... |
