Mine broke.
My 2nd gen iPod broke last week at Jury Duty. An extra large man sat down next to me rather clumsily and jarred it out of my hands. Music no longer comes out of it.
Mine broke.
you should sue him ;)
Who R U
Who are you, Mr. X? You're cool. I have an iPod mini and I treasure it more than anything else I own. ;>

Corrections here...
I tried my best to get all the models, features, and years right, but if you notice something wrong, please let me know and I'll fix it.
RE:Corrections here...
That's what I also tried, but I found out it's costing me a LOT :P

You forgot the 1st generation 5G IPod...which I think had the best scroll wheel...moves like butter...no stickiness.
Just replaced my battery
Just had to replace the Battery in my 3g 15gig iPod.
Just replaced my battery
Yup, first kid on the block to get an iPod, my trusty 1G 5GB (orig batt) still gets better battery life than friends' 3G versions. Never felt moved to upgrade until now. Prolly getting the new clickwheel iPod to indulge myself with spoken word content from NPR. I never thought I would find 5GB of storage to be confining, though!
I have another player
I don't listen to any music, just audio lectures converted from Real Audio to MP3 at low quality. With my 128mb Creative MuVo I can fit hours of lectures on it. It's the size of a cigarette lighter and is great for walking since there's no hard drive; it was only like $70.
Palm Zire71 anyone?
Although I voted 'None', I actually do have one... my Palm Zire71. With earphones, the music sounds great. I have a 512mb card for it, so I can load up a few songs.
I have satellite TV at home & work, and my Mac is crammed with mp3's. I'm rarely at a loss for music, so I haven't had the need to get an mp3 player. Maybe if Apple reduced the price, currently over $700 here in Canada, I might buy one. I have had Walkman's before, but I never really caught on to listening to them all the time, which is probably the main reason of not having an iPod. That and iTMS is not here in Canada! Maybe if Apple reduced the price, currently over $700 here in Canada, I might buy one. Pete

I'm not sure which part of Canada you live in, but here in Windsor, ON, a 20 GB iPod is $429, and a Mini is $349 (Future Shop). Apple's online store has the same prices, and the 40 GB iPod is $559.
Palm Zire71 anyone?
Get serious! iPods in canada are 334 for the mini and 425 for the 20 gig.
Palm Zire71 anyone?
OK - so I saw the intro price on an iPod that was $729. New big one, or something like that. I didn't go any further when I saw the price.
I guess I don't really need an iPod to begin with, and not having any Apple stores for kilometre's around doesn't help much either! Pete
Never thought 10 Gigs would be too small....
I have a 2nd gen 10 gig iPod.

Either 10 gigs is too little space or the iPod's Shuflle is EXTREMELY unrandom. Anyone else notice that the same songs keep popping back up?Shuffle != Random. The iPod does shuffle, not random. Shuffle means the songs are put in some arbitrary order (like a deck of cards). All of the songs will play until the end. Random means that *every* song is just as eligible to be the next song played (including the one that is currently playing). Now that that's out of the way, you're looking at it the wrong way. When you tell the iPod to shuffle, you probably don't listen to every single song on it. Unless you have it paused, it's going to reshuffle the list the next time you listen. Now do you see why you're hearing some songs more than others? You're telling it to shuffle the entire list, but you're expecting it to (A) shuffle the entire list while putting the songs you just heard at the end or (B) keep the songs in the same order they were in last time. The odds of hearing every song you haven't hear before every song you already heard are slim.

fire
I used to have a 15gb iPod but lost it when my Apartment burned. I lost everything I had in the fire except for my 12" PowerBook which got thrown over the balcony in a back pack that had it and 2 note books in it. Of all the tech stuff I lost I miss my iPod the most :( Had a FM tuner w/ it to, great for road trips.
