I was going to respond, "Yes, once the initial stampede calms down".

I'm really excited... about iOS 6

I'm in a contract, but even if I weren't, I am pretty sure I wouldn't bother replacing my 4S with a 5. The differences just don't seem that significant to me, and while I'm not saying the negatives outweigh the positives, they are there -- larger in the pocket, new connector that may not be compatible with all devices.

On the other hand, there's lots of cool new stuff in iOS 6 I'm looking forward to on my 4S (although I will miss transit mapping a lot, I'm sure that will be brought back in via OpenPlans).

There will be two more adapters that support video out with the new Lightening connector, so there will be 5 in total including the Lightening to micro-USB required for the European universal chargers.

Here is an article explaining the adapters;

I've no contract, but I, too, don't see enough of a difference over my 4S to warrant upgrading. Maybe the 5S or the 6, but very unlikely the 5.

If I didn't have a phone at all, or if mine were to get stolen or whatever, yeah, I'd go for the 5. It's just not worth it as an upgrade, is all.

Cheers,

b&

I would consider it, except Straight Talk confirmed that they have no plans to offer a nano sim: https://twitter.com/MyStraightTalk/status/246261703468257282 (and cutting one down seems like it would be difficult if not impossible).

In addition to being smaller, you would have to shave the back as it is thiner as well.

I will probably buy one. It will be my first smart phone. I resisted buying one for a long time and still use a mobile phone that is only telephone and sms device.

iPhone 4s for me
Authored by: barryjaylevine on Sep 14, '12 08:17:53AM

I'm using a 3gs right now and have made a deal with a client: He upgrades his 4s to a 5 and I provide some free tech support and receive his 4s. Then I have to get a micro-sim so I can use it on my StraightTalk plan.

No compelling reason to replace a 4S that I bought a few months ago.
