Rip losslessly to flac with abcde
Authored by: mezzaluna on Jun 07, '08 06:51:28AM

I'm looking for a more efficient way to rip and encode CDs. abcde looks like exactly the right thing. Unfortunately, it fails on my G4 powerbook running 10.5.3. Anyone used this successfully under 10.5?

I've tried abcdb v2.2.6, which is the version installed by fink, and v2.3.3, which is the latest version I found on the web site, http://www.hispalinux.es/~data/abcde.php

Here's the failure. I think I'm reading the disk, getting to cddb, etc. Oddly, "line 2731" is a call to cddb-tool, which seems to work properly to get the disk info.

bash-3.2$ abcde

***Disk Unmounted('disk1')
