Can't repair disks with bad sectors, though
Authored by: tempel on Jun 05, '08 05:25:23AM
I have a FAT32 formatted disk that has a few bad sectors in a directory. When trying to verify or repair this disk, Disk Utility stops because of the read error, with the following message in its Log:
Unable to read directory (Input/output error)
The tool should offer an option to ignore read errors. Other tools do that, too, e.g. dosfsck for Linux.
