Use Teleport with VNC for total remote keyboard control
Copy/Paste and Drag/Drop DO work with Teleport, that is one if its most amazing features. I often use this combined with VNC to control my iMac whether I'm in the same room or across the house. You get a nice little "Pasteboard sent" notification, or in the case of dragging files or folders, a transfer status bar.

Aaaaaaaaaaaah! I'm the hint submitter and I just found the copy/paste & drag/drop features over the weekend. Very excellent!

The hint works except with at least two different VNC clients (Chicken of the VNC, Jollyfast VNC) and two different servers (OS X Screen Sharing, Vine Server) the mouse pointer does not show on the remote though clicks and drags register on the remote. Without the pointer the hint is not useful. Client is on a 10.4 Mac, host is on a Mac is a 10.5 mac.

I noticed this too and indeed if you use those VNC apps the hint is not very useful. I'd suggest using Apple's built in VNC as I find it to be quite fast, invokable from "Connect to Servers" in the Finder (eg vnc://machine.local), and I generally like to use built-ins when I can. Give it a shot...

Sorry for duplicate post, but I wanted to keep the thread. I don't believe that is an option with a 10.4 client. |
