Search WordPerfect for Windows files with EasyFind
Now how about a word processor that can actually read Word Perfect for Windows, or at least a translator that would allow importing such files int Word? I still get a lot of Word Perfect for Windows files sent to me, hard as that may be to believe.

MacLinkPlus (Dataviz) will do this but would be an expensive purchase ($80.00) if that's all you need it for.

NeoOffice (free), AbiWord (free), and Nisus Writer Pro ($) all import WordPerfect files and let you save in various formats. There are also some command-line utilities as part of the libwpd package (the importer used by NeoOffice and AbiWord), & in some other hints on this site there are scripts based on libwpd for quick previewing of WP for Windows files as HTML and conversion to RTF.

Thanks. I had no idea NeoOffice and AbiWord read WP files. libwp from the command line is intriguing as well. All I need is a path to converting the .wpd file so I can eventually save as RTF or .doc. It sounds like any of these options should do it. |
