I think this hint should be removed until there are documented sources for where this information comes from. This seems like just a rumor about a keystroke combo that doesn't actually do anything.

Well, the original poster claims that it worked for him; are you calling him a liar? That seems a tad unkind... I never experienced the problem, but just in case it might help someone it should remain. Worst case is, it doesn't work for every person. That doesn't seem a good enough reason to remove it.

I don't think the hint should be removed, but like Rob says, if anyone else can verify, please do so.

And yes, it would be nice if the hint poster mentioned where he found this keystroke combo.

Perhaps his cat was walking on the keyboard and Office vX suddenly decided to launch. :-)
