Add new contact to a specific group on iPhone
Authored by: babbage on Apr 14, '08 08:10:29AM

My trick for this is to create an address book group called "From iPhone", and have iTunes put all new contacts created on the phone into this group. That way, any contacts I add on the phone are together next time I sync. From there, I can re-file them into the folder they should have been in (family, coworkers, other businesses, restaraunts, etc) and empty out the "From iPhone" folder.

The same trick also works fairly well for syncing dates to iCal, by again creating a "From iPhone" calendar in iCal, setting the color to black so it stands out, and having iTunes put new events into that calendar. It would be a little nicer if iCal had some kind of search option where you could have it display all items from a given calendar, so that you could reorganize them into other calendars, but this approach is more than a good start for my needs.
