Federal gov. employees can get Jag for $64.50

Actually, and probably so can anyone else who can click a button that says a "I Accept" at the Apple federal employees store. YMMV.

You could also probably figure out a way to get it at the student price, which is even cheaper, I believe. I'm more interested in finding a way to get a license that's valid based on my qualifications (non-student, non-government) at the lowest possible cost :-).

Sanctioned by Apple?

FYI, and this is no joke, an Apple rep that came to work to talk, among other things about the iPod (when it was new) actually said, "we don't check" with regard to that I Accept button. He was saying this in the context of being able to get an iPod at a (slightly) lower price. Yep, an official Apple representative suggested it, and not just to me, to an entire audience. Mostly federal employees, mind you, but not all.

Don't try cheating...Apple checks your qualifications
Authored by: Felix on Jul 29, '02 03:09:26PM

I wouldn't try this lie if you don't qualify. Apple has a policy of checking a percentage of the orders by making you fax or mail in a copy of the applicable documentation proving you qualify. I don't know what the percentage is but I've been challenged on one of three orders. Since Apple has your true name, address, phone number, e-mail address, etc., it wouldn't be to your advantage to get blackballed by Apple. They could, and likely would, deny any and all warranty claims on all your Apple equipment if you get caught. Just not worth it if you don't qualify. Cheating never pays!!

Yes cheating does not pay, but, how would they know I bought 10.2 from a uni if I paid cash for it?

Just curious,

Robert
