I prefer my way...
with my way, which i explained in my posting, (using finder as an application) you get all the features you mentioned on your site, but you are also able to copy files accross environments (from a classic window to an X window.), and you don't have to have finder open the entire time you're in classic, only when you want it.

I did try this and it was very handy and solved a problem I have with a classic app that mounts volumes on the classic desktop that are not visible in the OS X finder. |
