Here is the full write up, adapted and adjusted from the instructions above with the tweaks for 10.5.1. Used it again today - hope it helps others!

10.5: Connect to T-Mobile hot spots
I was unable to make the hint work with Mac OS X 10.5.2 on a MacBook Pro. I did some googling and found instructions for setting up 802.1X for Linux at Starbucks, and low and behold, it worked. Weird. Basically, the Linux instructions say to enable "TTLS", "PAP" (under the "Configure…" button), and use regular WPA Enterprise rather than WPA2 Enterprise. So instead of checking "TTLS," "EAP-FAST," "PEAP," "LEAP," and "MD5," I only checked "TTLS." This worked on the firs try! Not sure if turning off the other authentication methods made the difference, or choosing WPA Enterprise rather than WPA2 Enterprise. If I get around to it, I'll investigate more and post a followup.
10.5: Connect to T-Mobile hot spots
Turns out I replied too quickly - I investigated more, and simply turning of the "MD5" seems to fix the problem. Now, when I turn on my airport, it automatically connects and authenticates to the tmobile1x network. Nice! |
