10.5: Automount Bonjour-published NFS shares in Finder

For the life of me I cannot work out how to automount Bonjour-published AFP or SMB shares?

The hint implies that it is easy with AFP/SMB, seeing that a work around is provided for NFS.

If someone could provide info on automounting AFP/SMB in leopard that would be excellent.

asphyx, I automount my NS4300N via AFP in Leopard easily. First, mount it manually. Go to the Finder > Go > Connect To Server and type in the IP address of your AFP share, pressing Connect should them prompt you for your username & password. Make sure you have selected the checkbox to save to the Keychain. Then once you have manually mounted your AFP share on the desktop, open System Preferences > Users > Startup Items and add the share name to your startup items. Logout & log back in and your share should now automount.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

SMB shares should show up automatically in Finder when they are published as a service via your server (most modern NASes support bonjour/ZeroConf publishing out of the box).
