You have to open the bundle and find the localization file. I'm not using Leopard right at this second, but on 10.4, the English localization file is in /Applications/ Just backup that file, edit it, and restart Mail.

Apparently the "localizable.strings" file is not where Mail stores the string "On My Mac" in Leopard.

I searched through the files in the Resources directory in Mail (which spotlight seems to do if you copy the directory outside the .app). Except for some help files, it does not appear in any of the resources.

I guess Apple really wants us to have a "My Mac".
