10.5: Force iCal to look for calendars in previous location

Great tip - it did just the trick!

I use an iMac for day-to-day work and a MacBook Pro for business trips. I use ChronoSync to push current copies of my work folders, Entourage and iCal files onto the MBP before heading off to see clients. I upgraded the MBP to Leopard on the night of 26/10 but not the iMac on account of being cautious and I've since discovered that a few applications require upgrading.

Anyway, while ChronoSync would copy the Sources folder from my iMac's iCal folder in the library and place it into the Library folder on the MBP, iCal on the latter wouldn't 'refresh' the calendars which was causing me a problem. It meant I had to use my old PalmPilot as a workaround (still waiting for iPhone to arrive in Australia).

Now I simply Use ChronoSync as usual and then after deleting the Calendar folder on the MBP, launch iCal to have it pick up the new calendars. Doesn't work in reverse but I can live with that as it's only a matter of weeks before I upgrade the iMac to Leopard.
