One little quibble: 256/thousands/millions of colors is bit depth, not resolution. Still, it is a good point. Although I am somewhat puzzled, as I have always had this issue issue connecting with Chicken of the VNC, even with 10.4- I have never been able to make a successful connection at 256 colors. Still a good point though.

Yes, sorry, 'bit depth' was the appropriate term. FWIW, I've always been able to connect to a machine running Vine server at 256 colors.

I imagine I might be able to do the same in Leopard, but any time I avoid installing yet *another* application, I'll do it.
