10.5: Create multi-page PDFs from images in Preview
Handy to know, but it would be even handier if it let you drag and drop multiple .pdfs docs into it and join them. I have to scan single pages into .pdfs and combine them in Adobe all the time. Thankfully Adobe 5 still seems to work for that purpose in Leopard.

Combine PDFs is another free app for folks w/o Leopard that allows you to create PDFs by combining, rearranging, or removing pages from PDFs or other image files. PDFLab has a few more features than Combine PDFs (e.g. automatic interleaving/splitting of pages, watermarking, etc.), but Combine PDFs tends to create smaller files in my experience. (Also of note: Combine PDFs creates files that don't have any PDF restrictions (e.g. printing, selecting text), even if the original PDFs do; this would obviously be a feature for some people and a bug for others.)
It will be interesting to see how the 10.5 Preview compares w/ those two apps.

It can. Open one pdf file, change sidebar into thumbnails and drop more pdf files. Then "Save as ...". |
