Install just the keyboard layouts from Logitech's drivers
Hm, it's been edited - in some ways for the better, in re-ordering the presentation of the hint itself, although actually the most recent (aluminium, ridiculously-thin) apple keyboards are OK, based on my short play with them in a shop, and use of my Macbook; it's the previous white-and-transparent ones, of which I have the bluetooth variety, which are unusable for my fingers. I guess the incoming-hints queue really is long - I actually posted this a couple of weeks ago, a day or so after installing Leopard. I wanted to post a correction, but I couldn't edit it while it was in the queue. Correction is just to note that the new keyboard layouts won't actually work properly until after logging out and logging in again. I don't think that was the case in Tiger (but I'm not sure). As it happens, I ended up settling on the "British - Windows" keymap from the other link in the article; it's a better match than the "British - Windows 2" and the "Logitech U.K. Intl" keymaps; but the hint still stands as useful to anyone wanting any of the other national keymaps, I hope. |
