10.5: Enable vertical split message viewing in Mail
Authored by: isaacfinnegan on Nov 12, '07 10:01:57AM
WideMail looks very promising. But I currently am not using it. Right not the message list rows are manually spaced to support the 2-line view. So single line view and using different fonts is screwy. I will be watching closely. The problem with the hack that I had, was that I was then unable to resize the panes.

Letterbox works! To get letterbox working on Leopard. simply run the commands:
defaults write com.apple.mail EnableBundles 1
defaults write com.apple.mail BundleCompatibilityVersion 3

Then put the letterbox bundle back in the ~/Library/Mail/Bundles directory

10.5: Enable vertical split message viewing in Mail

Letterbox does _not_ work.
The left-hand pane does not update and you get strange crashes... You also no longer get new mail updates.
If you are happy with these problems then use this fix... otherwise... wait for a later version or use widemail.
(Note: letterbox 0.16 is the latest version at time of writing)
