I miss the normal preview when in Column View mode. Quicktime movies and mp3 files no longer show a timeline bar when in Column View mode. You only see a frame of video (or a stupid music note icon if it's an mp3 file) and you can only click to play from the beginning of the file since there is no timeline.

I know QuickLook replaces this somewhat, but I think it's really dumb to remove this functionality. Sometimes I just don't want to use QuickLook, you know?

Anyone know how to put back the Column View previews to the way they were in 10.4?

I, too, miss the timeline bars in column view. AFAIK, QuickLook is the only option, at this point. i'd love for Tinkertool or some utility to bring back that functionality.

On the other hand, I find QuickLook just as easy, with one improvement: One press of the spacebar starts playback, and the timeline bar is actually longer, which allows for better (i.e., finer) navigation, if you need to skip around. With the shorter, column-view timeline bars, the default length -- the width of a column -- often prevented me from accurately locating the portion of the file i needed to hear.
