One way out of a mobile Safari crashing loop
Authored by: pwinn on Oct 18, '07 01:03:33PM

Clearly you've never experienced a real Mobile Safari crashing loop. I ran into this for the first time this weekend.

Launching Safari would freeze before it even attempted to load the page. The bookmarks button didn't do anything, the address bar was empty and nonresponsive, and even holding down the Home button to abort Safari didn't work. I even went so far as to do a full factory restore, and Safari still didn't work.

Then, without thinking, I clicked on an URL in Mobile Mail, and Safari has worked fine ever since. Odd, but clearly not "way too much work" -- more like the only way to get Safari to recover at all! Your mileage may very, but may you never encounter what I did.
