Wake up a MacBook that likes to sleep in
Authored by: gsperling on Oct 08, '07 01:28:22PM

I've had this exact same issue on my 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro. Sometimes, it doesn't even bring up the password box, it just stays asleep with the light on the lid switch/button dimming. I actually have had to hit the power button to wake it up.

While we're on the topic, I've also had an issue where after resuming from sleep, the wireless networking (Airport) refuses to properly associate with a network. Sure, it will say "Connected To 'NetworkName'" and will receive a DHCP address, but attempts (via terminal) to ping the default gateway or DNS addresses result in "Host Not Responding" responses.
