Poll: How Often Do You Turn Off the Power to Your Internet Connection?

I appreciate the desire to cut power consumption, but there are much Bigger Fish to Fry (so to speak). If you live in a 4000 sq-ft house, downsizing the house would save a lifetime worth of stand-by power. Same for commuting by car. Replacing a crt screen with a flat-screen does a lot, too. As for me, I haven't owned a car in four years, we live in an 800 sq-ft house within a mile of everything we need, and we don't use a/c. We keep the dsl modem and router running, because it's too much of a pita for the amount of power saved (and we often have downloads running overnight). We do have a "storm drill" for whenever lightning is in the area... all sensitive electronics are disconnected from power and phone lines until the storm passes. We also do the storm drill whenever we leave for more than a day or two.
