A workaround for a Firewire Target Disk Mode issue
Authored by: blubbernaut on Aug 21, '07 10:02:53PM

Just a quick update in case anyone stumbles across this while searching.

The 'old' mac was an eMac - fully updated Tiger OS and firmware, so firmware and OS weren't the issue.

And I didn't have any problems with corrupted transfers either (I don't know if that was just luck, or if the caveat about daisy-chaining referred to above relates only to specific setups).

So this option is probably a quick fix to try before checking any of the other things.

This hint worked in my case. I encountered exactly the same problem in my new iMac (2007). It worked with this daisy chain fix... Weird....
