Apple Aluminium Keyboard media keys serve many roles

While we are on the topic of keyboards, as anybody else noticed that the wireless version lacks a number pad (while the usb version is the same as the old layout)? Kind of an odd move I thinků

For me, it's a wonderful move. Otherwise the mouse is too far away and I can hurt myself.

I take it you didn't watch the webcast. The reason they did that was to make it more portable, and useful in more situations. A lot of people like to put wireless keyboards in their lap, etc. It also makes the keyboard fit in laptop bags.

as anybody else noticed that the wireless version lacks a number pad

It's the subject of many debates in Mac forums these days, so yes, someone has noticed.

The lack of a number pad is a disadvantage to people who use it all the time. However, it is an advantage for those who want to use the wireless keyboard on their lap, where a number pad always unbalances a keyboard off center, and also for those who intend to throw it in their laptop bag.
