Ease the moving of photos between events in iPhoto '08
Authored by: greenarchipelago on Aug 12, '07 01:30:37PM

Hi,
though i didn't find that much time to try out iLife '08 in depth, i found some parts better and some worse than the old one, just like anything is like ;-)
Maybe the automated file organization "feels better" when getting used to. However, i was pretty surprised that my iPhoto library that was little less than 20 GB (admittedly already large) increased to a size of 28 GB (nearly 50 %)!
Possibly this happened after starting iMovie, which took quite a long time as there were (not too many = about 20, but, small) MP4 video files from my digital photo camera inside the iphoto lib that obviously caused iMovie to have some appetite .... Another possible reason my be that rumored "events" function, yet, i'm not sure, as i had no time to check for indexing files or similar, just like tose in the AppleLoops Audio folder (which sometimes can also grow to a few hundred MBs).
So far, i cannot provide any hints, yet, i'd really be interested in methods to shrink down the iPhoto library's size for at least a hand full of GBs ...
Cheers
G
