Customize ripped movies' iTunes artwork

Does anyone know how to add artwork to a video that has chapter marks?

From what I gather, a movie with chapter marks becomes a native QuickTime document (which doesn't have an album artwork meta data field), as opposed to an iTunes Video file (which does).

I've tried creating chapter marks for a video that has artwork (and it overrides the artwork) as well as adding artwork to a video that already has chapter marks (does not accept artwork).

As far as I can tell you can either have a video in iTunes with artwork, OR with chapter marks. Of course, purchased videos from the iTunes Store do not have this limit. Anyone know how you can replicate this functionality?
