Entering a WEP hex key for preferred AirPort network
Authored by: ac83969 on Jul 08, '07 02:46:51PM

I'm having a similary problem.. at home we have a Belkin router set up which connects without problems to a HP laptop but I keep getting 'error connections to wireless lan' message when I try to connect my MacBook pro to the same wirless connection.
I've tried (what feels like) every possible combination including putting $ adn 0x infront of the 10 digit WEP password but with not luck..

Any more suggestions for a relatively new mac user.. help please!

What worked for me:

-Make sure you have the latest firmware for your Express
-Start with a $ but make sure all the letters are in ALL CAPS, for example:

$DEAD99BEEF

And of course, only use 0-9 and A-F in your hex passwords
