Today is iPhone tips day...

How about a separate site for iPhone tips for those of us who can't buy/can't afford/don't want/don't care about the thing? Seriously -- all the Mac news sites have been taken over by this product. I live in Italy and can't buy, or afford and don't want or care about it. At all.

Out of 10,500ish tips on the site, exactly six are about the iPhone. One year from now, I expect that number might be as high as 10, perhaps 20. It's not the focus of the site, and never will be. But that doesn't mean that I'm going to ignore a popular device that runs OS X.

As noted in the original tip, if you disable the Phones category, you'll never see any tips about the iPhone. Over time, if I'm wrong and it seems that tips on the iPhone are indeed something amazingly popular, then we'll either launch a separate tips-only site for the iPhone, or I'll split out Phones and iPhone -- so one could still see phone tips without seeing iPhone tips.

But really, I don't think we're going to get many more hints over time. One a month, give or take, would be my guess.

Rob: I think you'll see more than 20, but I completely agree with your reasoning.

I agree,
I disabled as suggested in my preferences "Phones" and still I get stuff about iPhone.
I don't want it, I dont need it, get rid of it.
This site is called macosxhints.com. Not appleiPhone.com. If you want that then go deal with it. OS X Hints is how it was and how it should be. Sort it, find a new domain and deal with it! I don't want an iphone, I don't need an iphone. what next? ipodhints.com? appleclassichints.com? NO

The server is up but the site is down and I don't know which direction you are trying to go
