Non-iPhone-related changes in iTunes 7.3

There's also some weird and whacky id3 tag changes that I can't work out.
I started to play tracks from an existing album that I'd previously imported (as mp3s) into an older version of iTunes (not ripped from CD), and suddenly every track in the album that I played would disappear.

When I started to play a track, it would have it's artist/album info changed, and appear under a different listing. I then started changing them back, and things started getting really weird, and some would change album/artist and some wouldn't. What's really weird, is when i ran the command-line id3v2 tool to check their tags, none had any tags to start with.... So I've no idea where iTunes was getting this new info from.

Eventually I gave up, deleted them all, force-stripped both id3v1 and id3v2 tags from the mp3s, re-imported them and re-tagged them all by hand...

I hope this doesn't start happening to more albums in my library....
