Set a volume level below the system-set minimum
Authored by: kaw_in_stl. on Jun 28, '07 08:41:59AM

Anybody know how to adjust the overall scale of the volume levels? Since I am using headphones, three blocks is all my ears can take. I'd like to have that be the "maximum" and then I'd have more controll over the volume. I didn't see anything in control panal that would help.

If your headphones have an external, physical volume adjustment, you can effectively do what you want.

Set the software volume to max, and then adjust the headphones volume to an acceptable level. Now the software control will scale up to your personally acceptable level.

If your headphones have no such control, get some real headphones! :)

I have some Logitech 350s, which do have volumn controls, but (because it is USB?) it controls the main volume, not the headset volume.
