Use EyeConnect to access Mac media on a PlayStation 3
And how did you get it to work? I just tried it and the PS3 could not find any media servers on the network, and EyeConnect couldn't see the PS3.

It's easier if you have your media server files + Eyeconnect connected directly to the router (hard wired) rather than wireless. It shows up right away. Otherwise you have to tinker the wireless settings for firewall and such. I have mine setup and it works wonderful. The downside is that you can only stream MPEG 1-2 video files... this is because Elgato's (makers of Eyeconnect) main purpose for this product is to stream EyeTV files which is natively mpeg 1-2. I use VisualHub to batch convert my avi, xvid, etc., files to mpeg and have my PS3 connect to my shared movie folders via eyeconnect and I'm happy camper.

I had a problem until I opened port #2170 (name it EyeConnect) in my firewall. Voila! All my laptop files appeared! |
