A fix for 'can't find the default KCHR resource' error
Authored by: lincd0 on Jun 04, '07 09:34:31AM

I'm not sure what happened here, but if the problem didn't occur in your other user account, that means it was caused by something in the home directory of the first account. You should have checked to see which preference files had changed recently, or failing that, restored the whole Preferences folder from your most recent daily backup. You do back up all your data every day, of course.

Reinstalling system files wasn't necessary. Rebooting may have solved the problem.

I did rename my home directory...

If you'd actually read the hint, you'd see I renamed my home directory. Rebooting was done after each renaming. So yes, it would appear to be something in the home directory, but no, it wasn't.
