Recover space on an iPod

As we all know OS X doesn't always sync everything until a disconnect. However, on my MacBook this isn't true. My iPod is usually synced to the MacBook and there is no temp folder/files. I tried syncing it to my iMac and before I ejected it, I checked for the folder. Lone behold it was there with about 400mb of data (about the size of my podcasts which were the only things that weren't previously synced to my iPod). I ejected and plugged it back in with nothing else to sync to it and the temp folder was empty.

After plugging it back into my MacBook, the temp folder went away, so this probably has to do with the fact that not everything thing is moved to the proper place until the device is ejected in OS X.
