I Cannot understand why you don't use the Ctrl-Apple-D shortcut, that works in all Cocoa applications: highlight the word you want to lookup in dictionary, leave on it the mouse cursor and press Ctrl-Apple-D: a popup window will show the dictionary definition, and you have the choice to search more (the "More..." on the bottom-right corner of the popup).

Actually, you don't even need to select the word. Just putting the mouse cursor over it (and then pressing cmd-ctrl-d) is enough.

I agree. And Quicksilver has "triggers." I assigned a hotkey to the action of launching the dictionary application (which is slightly quicker than typing "<cmd><space>dic"). I also created a trigger to look up the current selection in dictionary - this opens the definition using OS X's dictionary service, not the Dictionary application, but it's still great and super quick.

I have to agree. so what if you pull up dictionary then u have to type the word in. too much time. stick with ctrl-apple-d

now if there is a way to get more real estate for the appl-1-9 option that would be great
