A shortcut to help with file renaming

Not sure what you mean, but CTRL-Left or CTRL-Right aren't doing anything, for me, that's different than just plain Left or Right.

BTW, when you are saving a file, the Save dialog comes up, and the name of the file is highlighted, a single press of the Right arrow puts the cursor at the end of the name, before the dot that separates it from the file extension.

A simple Left, when that file name is highlighted [which it is by default in most apps when you activate Save As], puts cursor at beginning of file name.

I often use Save As just to get the dialog box, because then a simple CMD-C copies the highlighted name, ready for pasting elsewhere [like, in a readme doc].
