Will this process work using a VP6 virtual machine? I never upgraded to VP7 but still occasionally use VP6 on my G4 and would like to use Parallels when I upgrade to an Intel Mac soon.

It might work, but if you're concerned with violations of the end user license, Virtual PC 6.0 shipped with an OEM version of Windows XP, and so you couldn't do so without breaking the EULA.

Virtual PC 7.0 came with a retail version of Windows XP, so there's not an issue.

Where did you get this information? Everything I've heard is that the VPC 7 license is also OEM. I'd love for that to be wrong!
