How to update a Pioneer DVD drive's firmware
Authored by: mahakali on Apr 08, '07 04:42:08AM

Thanks for the tip. This worked for my DVR109. One correction:

Use Stuffit Expander to open the .EXE file, and you will find three files inside: an .exe file and two black files with funny names like RA100010.141 and RA100110.141. Put these two black files in the folder named Firmware in the DVRFlashX 2.1 folder.

You have to put all three files (including something.exe) inside "Firmware" folder. Otherwise it'd give you an error.

i just ran the 104 flasher using OS X Leopard. it killed my drive.

ok. i understand that flashing firmware can go wrong. but it actually killed my entire G4... not just the stupid $90 drive.

now i just get a kernal panic when i restart. i dont even know what part i should replace. motherboard?

this sucks.

dont use software from http://lasvegas.rpc1.org/

just buy a new drive.
