10.4: Easily add the date to the menubar
Authored by: smactron on Mar 23, '07 08:19:44AM

Sweet tip! Is there any way to prevent the whitespace between the day and the comma? My menu bar reads "Fri , Mar 23, 11:20 AM". I wish it read "Fri, Mar 23, 11:20 AM", where there is no space between "Fri" and ",". Please let me know if you have a solution. Thanks!

This formatting comes from the 'Full' date format. Go to System Preferences > International > Formats then click 'Customize...' for dates and select 'Full' from the pop-up menu to get the editing sheet.

The little lozenges represent the variable bits of the date, and there is fixed formatting between them, generally in the way of spaces and commas. You can click between the lozenges to edit the fixed formatting (not forgetting to click OK at the end).

My guess is that you've somehow got an extra space between the day and the comma that normally follows it directly!
