10.4: Avoid the 10.4.9 Eject key activation delay

How did you setup option-eject to eject your second DVD-R? I've been unable to figure a way to eject my external DVD-R drive with the eject key. That would be really nifty.

It isn't anything you set up! It just works. On my MacPro, Option-Eject instantly opens the second drive. I have noticed, on my ICEkey keyboard, that I can use F112 and Option-F12 to open the respective drive trays as well, but when using those keys, there *is* a slight delay!

Who knows if there's any rhyme or reason to this…
