updated, and have noticed no change at all.

i have a mac pro, with wired keyboard & mouse.

tap eject: nothing ever happens. same before and after update.
HOLD eject: cd tray opens. same before and after update.

there was no change in the amount of time one has to hold down the button for me.

You're right about the delay when ejecting disc tray. It's hardly noticable. But you'd notice something if you use the eject key for something else all the time (e.g. for putting your mac to sleep). I use cmd-opt-eject for putting my mac to sleep and I, too, thought something was wrong with my keyboard. It used to be in a blink.
