A possible fix for failure to sleep when inactive
Authored by: dino_p on Feb 14, '07 03:58:04PM

With all due respect, I would assume the author did check the energy saver control panel settings.
The "Wake on ethernet admin" settings only apply during sleep, when the machine is hooked up via ethernet. Thus, I don't think this prevents the MBP from sleeping.
However, I noticed in my system logs that my netgear router also sends such UDP packets. Looks kinda like a port scan... no idea why it's doing that. I also couldn't turn that off on the router.
Ironically, I understood the "Enable Stealth Mode" the other way around: when turned on, the computer just ignores uninvited network packets; when it's turned off, it might actually respond to some. Still, I don't see why this should affect sleep.
