Great hint! Just one question, you say "Expand the iPod icon under devices and click on the iPod's Music master playlist." – where is this Music playlist? all i have when i click on my iPod icon on the desktop is Calendars, Photos, Contacts, and Notes. Do you have some kind of "show hidden folders" option enabled? thanks

I think he means in iTunes, not in the Finder

True, expand the iPod icon in iTunes, not the Finder.
