Another solution.
The Nokia forums speak of another method similar to this one. I've modified the necessary files - you need only follow a few steps:
1/ Download This .zip file (For the paranoid, you can simple unzip it and look at its contents in your text editor. It consists only of configuration text files and some icons) 2/ Copy this by selecting the following maroon text and then pressing Command-C :
3/ Open the finder. Press Command-Shift 'G' (that is 'Go to Folder' on the Go menu bar item.) Paste what you copied in step 1 into the dialog box. 4/ Drag and drop the downloadeded .zip file (from step 1) into the Folder that is opened in step 3. 5/ Unzip the .zip archive by double clicking on it. You should then have a folder named 'Nokia-9300.phoneplugin'. You should then put the original archive into the trash or somewhere else for backup as you won't need it anymore Now you will be able to add the Nokia 9300 like any other bluetooth device. It would be perhaps wise to remove any bluetooth pairings which might cause conflict. Also, you will have to select the option 'always allow connection' on the Nokia for the Mac to connect without intervention from your part. (see on the phone: Settings > Connections > Bluetooth). Note that this solution is far superior than the one proposed earlier, as it syncs directly using the MLsync. It won't need the small apple application 'iSync Config' either. Another plus, is that you have a little icon on the phone telling you when it is synchronizing. Not to mention that it won't lock the phone up like the iSync Config Application does. Also I included a nice icon for iSync. Hope it is useful for you, it works perfect here! If more assistance needed, hope to help. Enjoy :) |
