Freeze your drives!
Authored by: guillaume.kh on Jan 21, '07 06:25:03AM

One good tip: if a drive goes down the slope and starts failing, put it in the fridge, or best, in the freezer. I'm not joking, really. I have no idea why this works but when you take it out, your drive will work flawlessly for some time before it goes back to regular temperature and starts crashing again, thus allowing an emergency backup.

This one saved my data few times.

I wouldn't say "it WILL work" after freezing--I'd say "it MIGHT work."
