I found the easiest way to find what PPC code I was still running after the migration was to use the Activity Monitor and you can sort by "Kind" which is either PPC or intel

Anyone know of any utilities that can search your system for PPC or Universal apps?

Yes. There's a little program called Xslimmer, which is a program to slim down your universal binary application to either PPC or intel only. It will show you the information with in seconds when you drag any application in your machine to Xslimmer. It's a mighty useful shareware program!
