10.4: Be aware of some PowerPC - Intel migration issues
Authored by: rgray on Jan 19, '07 09:20:48AM

When migrating clients from G4 to Intel machines, I counsel that the best approach in the long run is to copy over the home directory elements NOT INCLUDING the Library: Desktop, Documents, Music, Pictures, Movies, yes but NOT Library. The point is to rebuild in Intel/Universal as much as possible. Only as a last resort should one resort to a Rosetta solution. This was learned after too many attempts to use the Migration Assistant solution. It helps that my guys tend to be one or two computer operations and who tend to want to actually learn something about their systems.
