Describe all Unix apps in current PATH

Not *exactly* equivalent, but surely this is a lot quicker and simpler?

man -k 1
(ie show all commands in section 1 of the manual)

For me, this returns 1091 items compared to 1221 from:


find ${PATH//:/ } -type f -print0 | xargs -0 basename | sort | uniq
so perhaps good enough.
